Associate Data Scientist, RWE Clinical Trials Remote

Job Summary... The Data Analyst will be responsible for delivering insight, analysis, reporting, and other content to support Real World Evidence (RWE), and more broadly, Clinical Trials Services (CTS) operations, strategy, and growth. The candidate must be process driven and have a strong desire to influence internal and external decision making through the application of innovative data science and technology. In this role, you will conduct sophisticated data analysis to help address critical business questions and grow the CTS business. This role reports to the Director, Clinical Data Science Job Responsibilities

• Partners with members of Clinical Trial Services (CTS) to deliver actionable insights and reporting from Walgreens owned RWD assets for biopharmaceutical RWE and CTS operations.
• Organizes, transforms, validates, and integrates internal Walgreens pharmacy, retail, health care, and secondary data sources to support analyses.
• Performs data mining and analysis to analyze Real World Data in order to find new insights

regarding patterns and trends in treatments, patient behavior, and health outcomes.

• Synthesizes findings, produces appropriate visualizations, and produces reports to tell a databased and audience-appropriate story.
• Supports the development of real-world data, analytics and contemporary tools to address scientific questions from biopharmaceutical companies.
• Builds dashboards, analytics and reports for internal and external consumption.
• Provides Business Intelligence support for CTS operations.
• Proactively identifies and solves data-analytic business and health care questions.
• Communicates complex findings to non-technical audiences.
• Independently engages with data, analytics and engineering members across Walgreens to develop data solutions.
• Stay abreast of contemporary data and analytics tools.
• Documents projects and processes.
• Contributes to the development of script libraries and version control systems to automate, scale, standardize, and expand data science and analytics capabilities.
• Develop or assume advanced statistical analysis responsibilities, as desired.

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, computing or technical discipline with 4+ years in analytics, data science or business intelligence role.
• 2+ years scripting language (R, Python, Julia).
• 2+ years relational databases (SQL) and integrating data from various data sources.
• 2+ years designing and producing accessible and engaging data visualizations, reports, data analysis, and dashboards.
• 2+ years with a Business Intelligence tool: Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, etc.
• 2+ years communicating findings to a non-technical audience.
• Demonstrated experience independently managing analytics requests end-to-end.
• Demonstrated ability to transform loosely developed questions or problems into clear, actionable answers.
• Curious and pro-active problem solver.
• Experience handling sensitive data such as patient health records or personally identifiable information.
• Willing to travel up to/at least 10% of the time for business purposes. (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in longitudinal retail and specialty pharmacy transactions, EMR/Health IT, disease registries, and insurance claims databases.
• Expertise in clinical data standards, medical terminologies and controlled vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies (ICD9/10/ReadCode).
• Experience in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and/or regulatory compliance guidelines for real world evidence studies or clinical trials (e.g., ISO, MDD/MDR, CFR)
• Experience working on alternative data sources and alternative methods of clinical data collection, especially those enabled by technology platforms and/or solutions.
• Experience with a variety of data storage architecture (Lakes/Houses/Lakehouses, On prem/Cloud
