As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced File Reviewer to join our UK Compliance team. This role will play a key part in ensuring advice quality, regulatory compliance and positive client outcomes through the review of financial planning cases and ongoing quality assurance activities. Role Overview The File Reviewer will undertake pre-sale and post-sale reviews of financial planning cases, ensuring advice is suitable, compliant and aligned with FCA requirements, Consumer Duty expectations and internal policies. Working closely with advisers, paraplanners, supervisors and compliance management, the successful candidate will identify risks, provide constructive feedback and contribute to the continual improvement of advice quality across the business. This role is ideal for an experienced compliance professional who enjoys balancing regulatory standards with a commercial and pragmatic approach.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct pre-sale and post-sale file reviews in accordance with the firm's risk-based monitoring framework. Assess suitability reports, fact finds, client objectives, risk profiling, cashflow planning and supporting documentation. Review recommendations involving pensions, investments, ISAs, GIAs, retirement planning and protection solutions. Assess compliance with FCA Handbook requirements, Consumer Duty obligations and internal policies and procedures. Identify suitability, regulatory and procedural concerns and clearly articulate findings. Provide constructive and proportionate feedback to advisers and paraplanners to improve advice quality and client outcomes. Escalate material risks, breaches or recurring issues to Compliance Management. Assist with thematic reviews, quality assurance exercises and monitoring activities. Support the production of management information and trend analysis relating to file review outcomes. Contribute to the development and maintenance of file checking standards, guidance notes and compliance procedures. Participate in adviser training sessions and workshops where required. Support regulatory projects, audits and wider compliance initiatives. Essential Skills & Experience Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning. Minimum 3 years' experience within a compliance, file checking, quality assurance or paraplanning role within a regulated financial advice business. Strong understanding of FCA regulatory requirements, suitability standards and Consumer Duty. Good knowledge of pensions, investments, retirement planning and financial planning solutions. Ability to assess complex advice cases and identify regulatory, suitability and conduct risks. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to provide clear, balanced and constructive feedback. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities. High attention to detail and commitment to quality. Desirable Skills & Experience Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning or progression towards Chartered status. Experience of both pre-sale and post-sale file checking. Experience supporting FCA visits, regulatory audits or compliance monitoring programmes. Experience conducting thematic reviews and root cause analysis. Knowledge of international and cross-border financial planning considerations. Experience using financial planning, CRM and compliance monitoring systems. Apply To This Job
