[Remote] Cloud Network Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Elios is a cloud-first managed services and consulting firm, and they are seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to design and implement AWS networking for customer delivery projects. The role involves owning the network layer end to end, architecting, deploying, documenting, and tuning it for performance and cost while collaborating with Cloud Engineers and Cloud Architects.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy AWS networking infrastructure: VPCs, subnets, network ACLs, security groups, Transit Gateways, and VPC peering
• Configure AWS Direct Connect and interconnect technologies, working across protocols and vendors such as BGP, Palo Alto, and Cisco
• Write Infrastructure-as-Code in Terraform or CloudFormation so network builds are repeatable and sustainable
• Stand up network visibility through VPC flow logs, load balancer logging, and tagging for cost analysis
• Deploy, test, diagram, and document the network layer across dev, pre-production, and production
• Build and execute migration plans, including on-prem to AWS hybrid networking, and confirm connectivity once cutover happens
• Advise clients on the networking changes they need to support AWS connectivity
• Meet with the delivery team daily, challenge implementation approaches where it improves the outcome, and log your project time each day

Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 10+ years working in a predominantly AWS cloud networking capacity, including 10+ years developing AWS cloud infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of leading AWS cloud security practices, especially as they apply to networking
• Proficient developing Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform or CloudFormation
• 3+ years of project management experience in an external, client-facing software development or cloud engineering environment
• Working knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies
• Able to run multiple client engagements in parallel, with sharp attention to detail and strong communication and time management
• AWS certifications such as Advanced Networking Specialty, Developer Associate, SysOps Administrator Associate, or Solutions Architect Associate
• Networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, PCCSE, or PCNSE
