[Remote] Software Engineer III (FC Ops)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Spreetail is a technology-driven e-commerce company that operates the full retail supply chain. They are seeking a Software Engineer III to design, build, and maintain backend services for fulfillment operations, ensuring reliability and correctness of transactional systems while collaborating with product managers and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain the backend services that power Spreetail's fulfillment operations — inventory management, order processing, carrier integrations, and exception handling
• Own the reliability and correctness of transactional systems that FC operations depend on every hour of every day
• Lead technical design within your pod — driving architecture decisions, establishing patterns, and holding a high bar in code review
• Identify and address systemic issues: performance bottlenecks, data consistency gaps, fragile integrations
• Debug and resolve production issues quickly, with clear communication to stakeholders
• Collaborate with product managers and FC operations teams to translate operational requirements into sound software design
• Mentor SE II engineers and help raise the overall engineering quality of the team

Skills

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong backend focus
• Deep proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem
• Ability to design, build, and maintain production services independently and lead others doing the same
• Familiarity with downstream ML pipelines (Python, dbt, Dagster)
• Experience with SQL Server / PostgreSQL
• Experience with AI tooling: Claude Code for development workflows
• Experience with AWS (primary) — EKS, S3, SQS, EventBridge
• Experience with CI/CD: GitLab pipelines, containerized deployments
• Experience with mobile Android
