[Remote] Business Development Manager

X4 Engineering is the largest third-party jurisdictional inspection provider in the United States, specializing in boiler and pressure vessel inspections. They are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities, primarily focusing on expanding their Infrared (IR) Thermography Services sector.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Revenue Growth: Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities across North America, specifically targeting the expansion of the company’s Infrared (IR) Thermography service line
  • Market Penetration: Leverage the company’s existing reputation and preferred vendor status with property casualty insurers to cross-sell IR services into established accounts and net-new industrial clients
  • Autonomous Pipeline Management: Manage the full sales lifecycle from lead generation to closing, operating with a high degree of independence and self-direction in a remote work environment
  • Technical Aptitude Learning: Participate in comprehensive training to master the technical aspects and value propositions of IR thermography services to effectively communicate benefits to clients
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the internal technical inspection teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction as new accounts are onboarded

Skills

  • Proven Sales Track Record: Demonstrates a 'hungry,' hunter-mentality with a strong background in pure sales, business development, or account acquisition
  • High Autonomy: A proven self-starter who thrives in an unstructured, autonomous environment. Highly regimented or micro-managed backgrounds are less suited for this role, as it requires strong self-discipline and independent drive without daily oversight
  • Trainable & Adaptable: While deep technical knowledge of IR thermography or pressure vessels is not required, the candidate must possess the intellectual curiosity and capability to learn the technical nuances of the industry
  • Geographic Flexibility: Comfortable managing a broad geographic territory spanning the US and parts of Canada from a home-based office
  • Industry Familiarity: Prior business development experience within industrial services, insurance risk control, commercial property management, or the inspection sector is a distinct advantage, though not strictly required
