[Remote] Senior Product Designer, Core Experience

BetterSleep is on a mission to help the world sleep better, transforming from a content-driven app into a connected sleep-health platform. They are seeking a Senior Product Designer to lead the design of the Core App experience, focusing on creating high-impact user experiences through data and behavioral insights.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design vision for BetterSleep's core app experience in close partnership with Product and Engineering, and advocate for the user throughout the product development process
  • Design high-quality end-to-end user experiences that deliver a consistent, intuitive, and emotionally resonant experience across the customer journey
  • Own and evolve key product surfaces including core navigation, feature discovery and engagement, clinical screening and referral flows that feel seamless within the consumer app experience, and other critical moments that drive activation, trial-to-paid conversion, and retention
  • Craft and direct UX copy and microcopy across the product experience, including feature titling, education, and navigation, ensuring alignment with BetterSleep's brand voice
  • Design for localization (text expansion, RTL considerations, etc.) to address the 6+ languages supported within the app
  • Collaborate with Engineers, Product Managers, and other Designers to solve user problems, navigate technical constraints, and scale product experiences effectively
  • Leverage internal data, experimentation results, and your understanding of human behavior to identify opportunities for improving conversion, retention, and engagement
  • Design for personalization and adaptive experiences, helping shape user flows that respond to individual needs, sleep goals, behaviors, and future AI-driven product capabilities
  • Participate in user research and competitive analysis to inform product direction and ensure a best-in-class mobile experience
  • Actively participate in agile processes and ceremonies
  • Make recommendations to management on process and tooling improvements
  • Ensure compliance with Android and Apple platform guidelines, stay current on new developments, and inform the team of relevant updates
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and communicate complex ideas, goals, and design rationale clearly and effectively
  • Mentor and guide other designers

Skills

  • You have a relevant degree in design or equivalent professional experience
  • You have at least 8 years of experience in Product Design for mobile apps
  • You are passionate about designing best-in-class mobile experiences and can balance business, product, and user needs
  • You have extreme attention to detail and a desire to understand all aspects of the product
  • You have a portfolio of UI and UX projects that demonstrates user research, ideation, launch, iteration, and measurable results. Please provide a link
  • You have strong UX writing sensibility, with the ability to craft clear, emotionally resonant microcopy that aligns with BetterSleep's brand voice
  • You have experience designing personalized, adaptive, or data-informed product experiences, and are excited by the opportunity to shape future AI-driven user flows
  • You are proficient with design tools used to communicate UI and UX solutions effectively, such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe CC
  • You understand A/B testing and can make improvements based on quantitative results and qualitative feedback
  • You are able to prioritize work based on user impact and development effort
  • You are an effective communicator and strong cross-functional collaborator
  • Knowledge of the engineering process and technical limitations
  • Experience in wellness, health, behavioral product design, or subscription-based consumer apps
