[Remote] Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will support the Finance team by enhancing accounting processes and controls, managing the month-end close, and providing financial insights while ensuring compliance with accounting policies.
Responsibilities
- Owning key components of the monthly close across multiple areas of the P&L, including payroll and royalty-related expense accounts, ensuring timely, accurate, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting within a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Preparing and reviewing complex journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations, with a strong emphasis on variance analysis
- Investigating financial fluctuations, identifying root causes, and partnering with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies
- Partnering directly with FP&A and business leaders to analyse expense trends, support forecasting activities, and provide actionable financial insights
- Supporting accounting activities across the business while ensuring compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Assisting with the year-end audit process, including preparing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and supporting technical accounting documentation
- Helping to strengthen and improve internal controls, close processes, and financial reporting workflows
- Identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, improve accuracy, and streamline accounting processes
- Supporting ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as required
Skills
- At least 1 year of experience in a Senior Accountant role with demonstrated ownership of complex P&L expense accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
- 3+ years of accounting or finance experience, ideally within a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Comfortable owning variance analysis end-to-end, including identifying issues, understanding drivers, and recommending solutions
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with FP&A, Finance, or business stakeholders
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (CPA certification is a plus)
- Public Accounting experience is strongly preferred
- Experience supporting external audits and working directly with auditors
- Exposure to ASC 842 or other technical accounting areas
- Experience contributing to process improvement, automation, or internal control initiatives
- Experience working within a SaaS, technology, or other high-growth environment
