Key Responsibilities

  • Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners with a focus on speed and accuracy.
  • Enter customer‑provided information directly into the system, ensuring that each entry complies with established data‑entry protocols.
  • Create and maintain complex spreadsheets containing large volumes of figures, guaranteeing zero‑error calculations and consistent formatting.
  • Verify entered data by cross‑checking against source documents, flagging discrepancies, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Update existing records to reflect the most current information, including amendments, deletions, and additions.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a data entry clerk or in a similar role, with a track record of handling high‑volume data sets.
  • Fast typing skills (minimum 70 WPM) and a strong command of the touch‑typing system; typing accuracy of 98 % or higher is preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets, particularly Microsoft Office Word and Excel; familiarity with advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, macros) is a plus.
