Key Responsibilities
Data Platform Architecture & Development
- Partner with source data application teams and product owners to design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines that ingest, transform, and expose data for analytics and reporting.
- Implement end‑to‑end data solutions using the arenaflex cloud stack, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Event Hub, Azure Databricks, and Azure Functions.
- Build and optimize both batch and streaming pipelines, ensuring high throughput, low latency, and fault‑tolerant processing.
- Develop data models, schemas, and governance frameworks that support self‑service analytics while maintaining data quality and security.
DevOps & Cloud Operations
- Own the full lifecycle of data solutions: planning, architecture, ingestion, preparation, testing, CI/CD pipelines, performance tuning, deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
- Collaborate with the DevOps team to automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions.
- Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and security policies across the data engineering community.
- Mentor junior engineers and share domain expertise to foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Analytics Enablement & Business Intelligence
- Work closely with BI developers and data analysts to deliver reliable data sets for tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, and Alteryx.
- Implement monitoring and alerting solutions (e.g., Grafana, Azure Monitor) to proactively detect anomalies and ensure data pipeline reliability.
- Support data cataloging and lineage tracking using tools like Informatica Axon and Azure Purview.
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands‑on data engineering experience building large‑scale data pipelines in a cloud environment.
- Programming: Proficiency in Python, SQL, and familiarity with Unix/Linux scripting.
- Data Platforms: Experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, Snowflake, or similar data warehouse technologies.
- Streaming Technologies: Hands‑on experience with Azure Event Hub, Kafka, or comparable streaming platforms.
- DevOps Tools: Familiarity with GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Terraform, and CI/CD concepts.
- BI Tools: Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, Alteryx, or similar reporting solutions.
Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills
- Advanced certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or equivalent.
- Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks (e.g., Informatica Axon, Azure Purview).
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration for data workloads.
- Background in the aviation or transportation industry, understanding of flight operations data, revenue management, or scheduling systems.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities, with a track record of delivering innovative solutions under tight deadlines.
