[Remote] Director of Human Resources
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Lighthouse Kids Centers for Autism-TN is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Human Resources to lead HR operations, compliance, employee relations, and HR systems across their multi-state organization. The role involves building scalable HR infrastructure, standardizing policies, and supporting a consistent employee experience for approximately 250 employees across Tennessee and Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate HR records, including personnel files, HRIS data entry, and updating employee information
- Administer employee benefits programs including enrollments, changes, and terminations, and serve as the point of contact for employee inquiries
- Assist in HR policy and procedure development, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies
- Report and maintain Worker’s Compensation cases for all locations
- Support employee relations initiatives, including addressing employee queries, grievances, and general HR inquiries
- Assist in the implementation of HR programs and initiatives, such as performance management, employee engagement, and recognition programs
- Assist with HR reporting and analytics, preparing HR metrics and reports for management review
- Stay up to date with HR best practices, employment laws, and industry trends to ensure compliance and recommend process improvements
- Other Duties as assigned
Skills
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
- Must have a related Bachelors Degree
- Must have 5+ years experience in HR
- Must have 2+ years experience in management
- Must have 6+ months experience with the HRIS system Paycom
- Willingness to work 8-5 Monday through Friday in EST or CST time zone
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and employee relations
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing at a desk) for prolonged periods, up to 8 hours per day
- Constant use of a computer, laptop, keyboard, mouse, and other office productivity machinery
- Frequent communication via video conferencing, phone, and email. Must be able to accurately exchange information, present data, and converse with employees
- Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading
- Ability to maintain mental focus, handle repetitive digital tasks, and manage data entry with high attention to detail in a self-directed home environment
- Ability to travel to the Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga area clinics as needed
- Must have a quiet, private, and secure workspace free from distractions to handle confidential HR matters and conduct video interviews
- Access to high-speed internet capable of supporting seamless video conferencing and cloud-based HR systems
- Regular attendance is required
- Healthcare or ABA industry experience preferred

- Paid Holidays- All full-time Lighthouse Employees are paid for the following holidays at their regular hourly rate: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and 1 Floating Holiday. If holidays fall over the weekend, Lighthouse Kids will schedule the holiday to be observed on another appropriate day.
- Paid Time-Off- This position will offer 160 hours of PTO. It will be pro-rated based on the calendar year upon initial employment, and then front loaded starting January 1 on all following years.
- Fully Remote- This position is fully remote with the option to visit our clinics quarterly. Ability to visit our clinics quarterly will be based on candidate location, and is not required.
