Nova Ukraine is an international nonprofit delivering strategic humanitarian initiatives in partnership with trusted teams across Ukraine. The Social Media Team Lead oversees the strategic direction and daily execution of Nova Ukraine’s digital presence across major platforms, managing a global team to ensure effective messaging that supports the organization's mission to advocate for Ukraine.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the strategic planning, creation, and publication of high-quality, high-impact content tailored specifically for all major social media platforms
  • Manage and coordinate a distributed global team of volunteers and contractors, ensuring alignment and seamless execution across disparate U.S. and Ukraine time zones
  • Execute targeted, multi-channel campaigns directly tied to specific organizational fundraising, advocacy, and awareness goals
  • Analyze digital trends and own performance tracking using Google Analytics, native platform insights, and social management tools, delivering monthly reports with actionable optimization recommendations
  • Repurpose core social content into cohesive, scalable assets for email marketing, website updates, and broader campaign collateral
  • Monitor Ukraine-related geopolitical developments to ensure all content is culturally sensitive, fostering community interaction with a strict "dignity-first" approach

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
  • 3–6 years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, or public relations
  • Proven experience managing distributed teams
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Analytics and native social platform insights
  • Prior experience running digital fundraising or advocacy campaigns in the nonprofit or humanitarian sector
  • Fluency in Ukrainian
