[Remote] Sr. Software Engineer

Luminator Technology Group is a global leader in transportation technology, seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain cutting-edge software solutions. This senior role involves providing technical leadership, mentoring, and driving project success through collaboration and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching to junior and mid-level engineers
  • Playing a pivotal role in designing and architecting complex software systems
  • Ensuring the highest standards of code quality by leading code reviews, enforcing best practices, and driving improvements in coding standards, testing practices, and documentation
  • Tackling intricate technical problems that require in-depth understanding of the software architecture, algorithms, and system interactions
  • Taking ownership of significant projects or features, from inception to deployment
  • Collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals
  • Creating comprehensive technical documentation, such as architectural diagrams, design documents, and API specifications, to facilitate communication within the team and with other stakeholders
  • Optimizing software performance and scalability through careful architecture, efficient algorithms, and performance profiling
  • Staying at the forefront of technological advancements by conducting research, evaluating new tools and technologies, and proposing their adoption to improve development processes and software quality
  • Identifying technical risks early in the project lifecycle and implementing strategies to mitigate those risks
  • Collaborating with other engineering teams, DevOps, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth integration, deployment, and operational excellence of software products
  • Championing security practices within the development process, including secure coding, vulnerability assessments, and data protection
  • Proactively identifying opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency gains within the software development lifecycle
  • Continuously upgrading skills and staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Contributing to the technical direction and strategy of the engineering department or the organization as a whole

Skills

  • 3+ years of object-oriented programming experience with strong understanding and application of software design patterns
  • Software development experience in C#, .NET, .NET Core, and Visual Studio environment
  • Experience in HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, Polymer, Redux, Web Components, Angular, Bootstrap, and CSS
  • Experience with ASP.NET Core, WebAPI, WCF, REST, OpenAPI (Swagger) and micro services
  • Experience with Entity Framework, SQL, NoSQL, MongoDB, DocumentDB
  • Experience in cloud tools and technologies such as AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Proficient in TDD, unit, integration, and regression testing
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent proficiency with written and spoken English
  • Experience in UI/UX and WPF frameworks
  • Experience with transport protocols such as SFTP, HTTPS and working with webservices using SOAP/REST
  • Knowledge of software cybersecurity and penetration testing
  • Bachelor's degree from a 4‑year accredited institution in Computer Science or Computer Engineering required
  • 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Experience in Manufacturing, multi-site global environment strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in a multi‑site or global organization strongly preferred
