[Remote] Marketing and Communications Specialist

The Marketing and Communications Specialist will support the development and execution of marketing and communication strategies, create compelling content, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance organizational visibility and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, edit, and manage marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, newsletters, press releases, and case studies, ensuring alignment with brand standards and organizational messaging
  • Create and optimize content for digital platforms, including websites, social media, and email campaigns, to drive engagement and awareness
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to produce technical and thought leadership content tailored to target audiences
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute marketing campaigns to promote services, capabilities, and events, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
  • Monitor campaign performance metrics, analyze results, and provide actionable insights to improve effectiveness
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and partners to ensure timely delivery of campaign assets
  • Conduct in-depth research on industry trends, competitors, and target audiences to inform marketing strategies and identify opportunities for growth
  • Analyze data and present findings to support decision-making and strategy development
  • Contribute to the development of marketing plans and strategies that align with organizational goals
  • Lead the planning and execution of events, including trade shows, webinars, and community outreach initiatives, ensuring all logistical details are managed effectively
  • Develop promotional materials and coordinate pre-event and post-event communication strategies
  • Collect and analyze event feedback to identify areas for improvement and measure success
  • Interface with internal teams, including technical staff and leadership, to gather information and ensure alignment of marketing efforts with organizational priorities
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including partners, vendors, and media contacts, to support marketing initiatives
  • Maintain marketing databases, including contact lists, project trackers, and content libraries, ensuring accuracy and accessibility
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring deadlines are met and stakeholders are informed of progress
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members as needed

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with digital marketing tools
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) or content management systems (CMS)
  • Knowledge of social media platforms, scheduling tools, and analytics software
  • Familiarity with government contracting or defense industry marketing practices
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and interface with external stakeholders
  • Experience in event planning and coordination
