[Remote] VP of Business Development

Search Solution Group is seeking a Vice President of Business Development for a client specializing in organic-based carbon fertilizers and biological soil management. This executive role is essential for driving revenue growth, market expansion, and distributor partnerships while leading a high-performing sales and agronomy team.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute enterprise-wide sales strategies
- Develop multi-year growth plans to expand markets, diversify channels, and deliver sustainable revenue growth
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue new markets, channels, and partnership opportunities
- Build and implement go-to-market strategies across distributor, wholesale, and direct-to-customer channels
- Forecast revenue, manage budgets, and ensure predictable sales performance
- Lead all distributor partnerships, including negotiations, pricing, and long-term agreements
- Expand and optimize distributor networks nationwide
- Establish performance metrics, accountability frameworks, and incentive programs
- Ensure brand alignment and consistent execution across all channels
- Identify and develop complementary markets for company branded products
- Build strategic partnerships to accelerate market entry and expansion
- Collaborate with marketing and operations to align production planning, inventory management, and demand generation
- Build, lead, and scale a high-performing sales and agronomy organization
- Recruit, develop, and retain top-tier talent
- Set performance goals, coaching frameworks, and career development pathways
- Drive a performance culture focused on accountability, execution, and continuous improvement
- Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team
- Partner with operations, marketing, finance, and supply chain leadership to ensure enterprise alignment
- Provide market intelligence to guide product development and capacity planning
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive sales leadership, including senior executive roles
- Proven success leading multi-channel sales organizations and scaling revenue
- Experience in fast-growth, operationally complex environments
- Strategic and analytical thinking with strong financial acumen
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills
- Ability to develop and execute sales and market expansion strategies
- Talent management and team-building expertise
- MBA
- Experience in fertilizer, crop nutrition, agronomy, or agricultural input markets
- Relevant agronomy, sales, or leadership certifications
- Deep understanding of fertilizer distribution networks, dealer relationships, and grower adoption dynamics
- Familiarity with national distributor networks and new market creation
