[Remote] Accounts Payable Specialist

They are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to perform advanced accounts payable functions, ensuring accurate processing of invoices and collaboration across departments to maintain financial integrity.
Responsibilities
- Review, validate, and process vendor invoices in accordance with company policies and established AP procedures
- Perform two‑way matching (PO and invoice) and resolve discrepancies by coordinating with Procurement, Project Managers, and vendors
- Prepare and execute weekly payment runs, including ACH, check payments, ensuring proper approvals and documentation
- Maintain accurate and complete AP records to support internal controls and audit readiness
- Respond to vendor inquiries, research payment issues, and maintain updated vendor profiles and required documentation
- Review and process employee expense reimbursements in accordance with company travel and expense policies
- Support month‑end close activities, including AP accruals, aging analysis, reconciliations, and reporting
- Assist in developing and refining AP processes to improve efficiency and strengthen internal controls
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely resolution of AP‑related issues
Skills
- 5–7 years of progressive Accounts Payable experience, preferably within a professional services or project‑based environment
- Strong understanding of AP workflows, internal controls, and invoice lifecycle management
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, or similar)
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while meeting deadlines
- Experience with Unanet
- Knowledge of vendor onboarding, 1099 processing, and year‑end AP reporting
- Experience supporting audit activities or internal control reviews
