We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team! They will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure and pipelines that enable data collection, storage, and access for analysis and other applications. As well as transforming raw data into usable formats, ensuring data quality and security, and collaborating with various teams to support data-driven decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and SSIS. Build and manage data warehouse schemas, models, and processes in SQL Server and Azure SQL Database. Optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects for performance and reliability. Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions. Establish and enforce data quality standards, data governance practices, and documentation. Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, proactively resolving issues to ensure data availability and accuracy. Participate in code reviews, architectural design discussions, and engineering best practices. Evaluate and integrate emerging data technologies to modernize the data platform. Required Qualifications: Experience & Education 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a closely related field. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Microsoft Data Stack Advanced proficiency in SQL Server and Azure SQL Database, including T-SQL development and query optimization. Hands-on experience building and maintaining SSIS packages for complex ETL workflows. Strong experience with Azure Data Factory (pipelines, linked services, triggers, data flows). Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (including Power BI), Azure Analysis Services, and Tabular Models Data Warehousing Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts: dimensional modeling, star schemas, Kimball and Inman methodology. Experience designing and implementing data marts and enterprise data warehouse solutions. Familiarity with third normal form (3NF) database structures, slowly changing dimensions (SCDs), and incremental load patterns. Core Engineering Skills Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, C#). Experience with source control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows. Ability to work independently and translate complex business requirements into scalable technical data solutions. Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, testing, and team communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: The following qualifications are a plus but are not required. We encourage candidates who meet most of the required qualifications to apply: Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Azure Databricks. Experience with Azure DevOps (pipelines, repos, boards) for CI/CD of data solutions. Familiarity with AI tools, including large language models (e.g., Claude by Anthropic) and their integration into data workflows. Development experience with machine learning for forecasting, grouping, and anomaly detection Knowledge of real-time or streaming data architectures (Azure Event Hubs, Azure Service Bus). Understanding of UniBasic databases and coding languages. Exposure to data catalog and data lineage tools (Microsoft Purview).
