Key Responsibilities of the Remote Healthcare Customer Service Representative

As a vital member of our seasonal healthcare support team, you will:

  • Provide inbound customer support using structured call flow guides and established best practices.
  • Assist customers with a wide range of healthcare-related needs, including benefits explanations, claims status, billing inquiries, authorization requests, and provider searches.
  • Accurately track, document, and retrieve information within internal databases and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Identify opportunities to offer additional products and services that align with customer needs and organizational goals.
  • Deliver expert, empathetic, and solution-oriented customer experiences — with professionalism, patience, and a smile in every interaction.
  • Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations, privacy standards, and company policies at all times.

Essential Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2+ years of customer service or call center experience, ideally in a high-volume or metrics-driven environment.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare-related field, benefits organization, or insurance environment is strongly preferred.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required; additional education in healthcare administration, communications, or business is a plus.
  • Open availability, as the client operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A quiet, distraction-free home office environment suitable for handling confidential customer information.
  • Strong computer navigation skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, web browsers, and multiple system platforms.
  • Proven ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and composure.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies, systems, and processes quickly.
  • A desktop or laptop computer capable of supporting required PC and internet speed testing (a work computer may be provided depending on the position, but is not guaranteed and will be discussed during the interview process).
  • High-speed wired internet connection (wireless, hotspot, or satellite connections are not permitted) and a smartphone.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States, with a valid U.S. residence address.
