[Remote] eDiscovery and Data Protection Analyst

Remote role Full-time Open position

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Beacon Hill is hiring a remote eDiscovery & Data Protection Analyst for a Greater Philadelphia area client. This role involves managing the full lifecycle of eDiscovery activities and supporting legal, compliance, and cybersecurity initiatives for the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full eDiscovery lifecycle, including identification, preservation, collection, processing, review, and production of ESI
  • Partner with Legal teams to develop search strategies utilizing keywords, custodians, date ranges, and data source criteria
  • Utilize analytics and data reduction techniques such as deduplication, email threading, and near-duplicate analysis
  • Execute and maintain legal holds across Microsoft 365 and other enterprise platforms
  • Maintain chain of custody documentation, audit trails, and defensible processes
  • Support litigation, regulatory inquiries, audits, and internal investigations
  • Monitor and investigate DLP alerts and potential data exfiltration events
  • Analyze suspicious user activity across email, endpoints, and cloud environments
  • Support cybersecurity investigations involving insider threats, unauthorized access, and data security incidents
  • Collaborate with Security Operations and Incident Response teams to gather evidence and support investigations
  • Assist with incident documentation, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews
  • Ensure compliance with data retention, privacy, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain and enhance eDiscovery and incident response procedures, playbooks, and documentation

Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in eDiscovery, digital investigations, information governance, cybersecurity, or a related field
  • Experience with eDiscovery platforms such as Microsoft Purview, Relativity, Nuix, or similar tools
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, email systems, cloud-based data sources, and data governance practices
  • Knowledge of incident response methodologies and data breach investigation processes
  • Familiarity with DLP technologies, insider risk management, and data classification frameworks
  • Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, and communication skills
  • Experience supporting legal, compliance, regulatory, or internal investigations
  • Knowledge of privacy regulations including HIPAA, GDPR, or similar frameworks
  • Industry certifications such as CEDS, CeDA, Microsoft 365 eDiscovery, or related credentials
  • Experience supporting SOC operations, threat analysis, or cybersecurity investigations
