[Remote] Data Scientist – GenAI Engineering

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Bernard Nickels & Associates is a global professional services organization supporting enterprise clients across technology, analytics, and digital transformation initiatives. They are seeking a Data Scientist – GenAI Engineering to analyze large datasets, develop machine learning models, and build generative AI-enabled solutions for business decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in data science and machine learning, along with the ability to translate data insights into actionable business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, process, and analyze large structured and unstructured datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights
  • Develop, train, and deploy machine learning and GenAI models to solve complex business problems
  • Design and implement generative AI engineering solutions aligned with enterprise use cases
  • Build data visualizations, dashboards, and reporting tools to communicate insights to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and deliver analytical solutions
  • Perform data validation, cleansing, and quality assurance to ensure accuracy and integrity of datasets
  • Translate business problems into data science and AI-driven solution approaches
  • Support experimentation, model evaluation, and performance optimization of ML/AI systems
  • Document methodologies, model logic, and analytical findings for stakeholder and technical audiences

Skills

  • High school diploma (or GED) required
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in data science, machine learning, and/or AI engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience in GenAI engineering (primary skill requirement)
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and advanced analytics techniques
  • Proven experience developing and implementing machine learning models and algorithms
  • Strong understanding of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation
  • Experience building dashboards and data visualizations for business stakeholders
  • Strong programming skills (Python and/or related data science languages assumed)
  • Experience ensuring data quality, integrity, and validation processes
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills
  • A bachelor's (or advanced) degree in a relevant field of study
  • Experience working in consulting or enterprise client-facing environments
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience with modern GenAI frameworks and tools (e.g., LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG systems)
  • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Experience deploying models into production environments
  • Strong understanding of statistical modeling and experimental design
  • Background in regulated or enterprise-scale industries
