[Remote] Corporate Membership Sales Manager

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, is seeking a Corporate Membership Sales Manager to join their team. The role involves consultative sales to new and existing customers for various products, ensuring that offerings meet client needs and developing new prospects.

Responsibilities

  • Consultative sales to new and existing customers for any or all of the following products: Corporate Membership, sponsorships, advertising, digital library subscriptions, short courses (in-person and online), individual memberships, job postings, etc
  • Contact new prospects through phone, email, and in person at trade shows, or other appropriate locations, for the purpose of securing new sales by matching target-audience requirements with SPIE offerings; upsell current customers with new products
  • Responsible for developing new prospects, responding to inquiries, discussing customer business goals, and closing business
  • Ensure that products meet clients’ needs and support renewal business
  • Working knowledge of product lines is required
  • Develop sales strategies and creatively address revenue loss

Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications or relevant field, or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum 7 years successful business to business sales experience including meeting quotas
  • Working knowledge of product lines is required
  • Consultative sales to new and existing customers for any or all of the following products: Corporate Membership, sponsorships, advertising, digital library subscriptions, short courses (in-person and online), individual memberships, job postings, etc
  • Contact new prospects through phone, email, and in person at trade shows, or other appropriate locations, for the purpose of securing new sales by matching target-audience requirements with SPIE offerings; upsell current customers with new products
  • Responsible for developing new prospects, responding to inquiries, discussing customer business goals, and closing business
  • Ensure that products meet clients' needs and support renewal business
  • Develop sales strategies and creatively address revenue loss
  • Prefer experience in selling within publishing, exhibitions, or digital marketing
  • Specific knowledge and experience within one of the key SPIE product line areas such as science book, journal and/or database publishing exhibition, advertising, sponsorship and digital marketing sales within research conferences and exhibitions; sales or marketing within SPIE's customer base
  • Prefer experience in the science, technology, or medical fields
