[Remote] Project Manager

Remote role Full-time Open position

Landhawk Consulting LLC is a multidisciplinary environmental consulting firm seeking a Project Manager to join their environmental and cultural resources team. The role involves leading projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets, and providing technical support in environmental compliance and permitting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and provide oversight on projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, deliverables, and budgets
  • Maintain consistent day-to-day engagement with project teams to proactively monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure alignment with project goals
  • Take the initiative to track and communicate daily activities to supervisors and project leads, while regularly checking in with staff to ensure tasks are clearly defined and progressing efficiently
  • Provide quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) on all project documentation to maintain a high standard of work
  • Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and regulatory documentation to support environmental approvals and compliance
  • Provide technical support and regulatory guidance in the areas of environmental compliance, permitting, and wildlife conservation or cultural resource management
  • Coordinate and lead biological/archaeological field teams, ensuring timely, professional, and technically sound deliverables
  • Mentor and guide junior staff, promoting growth, accountability, and collaboration
  • Occasionally travel to project sites or attend client meetings as needed
  • Support business development efforts through client relationship management, conference participation, marketing initiatives, and proposal development
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, internal team members, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle

Skills

  • Proven leadership skills and strong communication abilities, grounded in integrity and emotional intelligence
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Wildlife Management, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of directly relevant experience in environmental consulting, regulatory compliance, NEPA documentation, and/or environmental permitting
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage responsibilities with minimal oversight
  • Experience leading and managing teams
  • Preference for candidates who have conducted fieldwork, such as plant species surveys, nesting bird surveys, and biological resource monitoring, in support of environmental compliance
