311 Customer Service Representative (Part-Time, OPS/Temporary)

Sarasota County Government is seeking a part-time OPS Call Center Customer Service Representative for their 311 Contact Center. In this role, you will assist residents by answering questions and connecting them with services across all Sarasota County departments, providing valuable local government experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receive telephone calls from the general public and county employees for the purpose of obtaining County services or information
  • Determine what type of service is being requested and respond to citizen requests
  • Furnish callers with service request tracking numbers and work orders for follow-up inquiries
  • Advise callers of the projected service, completion time, and status of their requests
  • Document the caller's information and the nature of the request, and enter it into a work/asset management system

Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education
  • At least 1 year of customer service or call center experience
  • Familiarity with Sarasota County communities (including Sarasota, Venice, Englewood, Nokomis, Osprey, and North Port)
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • One (1) year of experience in a clerical or customer service environment
  • Working knowledge of computer software dealing with public response
  • Knowledge of Sarasota County and all of the geographic areas/cities such as Sarasota, Venice, Englewood, Nokomis, Osprey, and North Port
