Accounts Receivable Representative I

Remote role Full-time Open position

Hospital for Special Surgery is a top-ranked institution for orthopedics and rheumatology, dedicated to finding exceptional talent. The Accounts Receivable Representative I will assist with contracts, coordinate enrollment in managed care plans, and resolve payment issues with insurance payors.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with contracts
  • Coordinates physician enrollment in managed care plans
  • Ensures compliance of managed care companies with negotiated contracts
  • Follows-up and resolving payment issues with Insurance Payors
  • Acts as a liaison between physician offices and Insurance Payors
  • Schedules, coordinates, and documents for all PHO related meetings
  • Creates and maintains tracking logs for Insurance Payor issues and accountability for closing out items
  • Oversees PHO phone line, answers and responds to inquiries, and assist with urgent physician office issues
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance record
  • Reports for duty punctually
  • Adjusts to changing situations and work assignments

Skills

  • Previous applicable experience in healthcare, hospitality or other highly visible customer service required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G. E.D.), may include specialized or vocational courses
  • Previous medical billing and customer service experience highly desirable
  • Knowledge of third party operating procedures, regulation, and billing requirements as well as government reimbursement programs
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS coding and Medical Terminology and Collections
  • Proficient in uses of computerized registration and billing systems and personal computers, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to identify trends with regard to third party payer denials and proactively problem solve
  • Positive attitude, flexible team player
  • Epic experience preferred
  • Associate's degree or enrolled in college working toward degree
