Role Overview As a Risk Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping the risk framework for an expanding fintech company. This position offers the opportunity to build the risk function from the ground up, providing direct exposure to the CEO and involvement in strategic decisions. The role is fully remote, allowing you to work from various EU and UK locations, and offers a competitive salary.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct merchant underwriting and risk assessments. Evaluate merchant business models, financial health, and acquiring exposure. Make critical go/no-go decisions on merchant onboarding. Define and implement risk controls such as limits and settlement terms. Monitor transactions for anomalies and fraud patterns. Prevent bust-out and merchant fraud scenarios. Optimize fraud rules and risk systems to prevent financial loss. Requirements 3+ years experience in acquiring/PSP/payments/issuing. Strong understanding of acquiring exposure, settlement cycles, chargebacks, and fraud risk. Solid data skills, including proficiency in Excel, SQL, and BI tools. Ability to make fast, data-driven decisions. Comfortable pushing back on commercial teams when risk is high. Languages: English, Russian Experience in fintech Key Soft Skills Ability to build the risk function from scratch. Strong exposure to CEO and strategic decision-making processes.
