We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Remote Data Engineering Specialist to join our Information Curation group. This team is responsible for constructing the datasets that our AI systems rely upon to solve some of the most complex challenges in autonomous driving. This position is a full-time, remote role reporting to the Database Engineer, Infrastructure Services team. As a fully remote employee, you will collaborate with world-class engineers, AI specialists, and operations leaders while enjoying the flexibility of working from home.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Remote Data Engineering Specialist at arenaflex, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of data curation for our autonomous driving systems. Your day-to-day work will blend technical problem-solving, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration.

Dataset Architecture and Engineering

• Design, build, and maintain massive, clean, diverse, and balanced datasets to advance various self-driving tasks
• Develop scalable strategies to source high-quality data from both engineering assets and the global customer fleet
• Engineer data pipelines using Python, JSON-C, and SQL to mine fleet information and analyze telemetry
• Apply advanced sampling and filtering techniques to verify data integrity and statistical relevance

Training and Operational Enablement

• Create comprehensive training materials, collection instructions, and procedural documentation for Information Collection teams
• Lead training sessions for up to several hundred staff members on the methodologies and techniques you develop
• Serve as a subject-matter expert who bridges the gap between data collection operations and AI engineering

AI Collaboration and Quality Assurance

• Partner closely with AI Specialists to train, refine, and validate neural network models
• Coordinate the development and rigorous testing of evaluation frameworks that confirm behavioral improvements in self-driving tasks
• Maintain tight feedback loops with Data Collection, AI Engineering, and Test teams to ensure new datasets meaningfully improve FSD performance

Reporting and Continuous Improvement

• Conduct in-vehicle testing to support engineering development and validate real-world performance
• Produce detailed reports that communicate top issues, release blockers, project progress, and next steps to leadership
• Monitor key performance indicators and use telemetry data to quantify progress on self-driving initiatives

Essential Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a closely related field — OR demonstrable evidence of exceptional ability through equivalent professional experience
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Python, Pandas, NumPy, SQL, Git, Grafana, and ElasticSearch
• Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals and core self-driving concepts
• Adaptability: Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with high ambiguity; must be a self-starter who takes ownership
• Soft Skills: Excellent work ethic, strong written and verbal communication, meticulous attention to detail, and a collaborative team-oriented mindset

Compensation and Comprehensive Benefits

arenaflex offers a competitive compensation package designed to attract and retain top talent. The anticipated pay range for this full-time position is $35–$45 per year as a base benchmark, with actual compensation varying based on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
