IT Security Analyst (Cyber Security)-Remote

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities Monitor and analyze across multiple security platforms (SEIM, Firewall, IDS/IPS, Full Packet Captures, etc). (essential) Assess the security impact of alerts and anomalies. (essential) Develop reports to describe high impact security issues. (essential) Maintain a strong awareness and understanding of the current threat landscape. (essential) Assist Senior Security Staff with remediation efforts. (essential) Conduct research on emerging security threats, especially as they relate to medical devices. (essential) Performs related duties as assigned. (essential) Required to be on-call periodically. (essential)

Required Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Candidate expected to work towards SANS GCIA or similar within 6 months of entry 1-3 years related work experience required. Working knowledge and experience with open-source security tools. Must be able to work independently and consultatively to apply applicable IT security rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge of industry trends and technologies. Working knowledge of HIPAA framework, ePHI, HITRUST, ISO and NIST. Advanced technical computer skills as required for technical support specific to functional area and related systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Expertise in data/trend analysis and report creation. Experience in programming/OS scripting. Working knowledge of malware analysis. Competencies 1. Problem Solving Ability to address problems that are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures and by identifying opportunities for process improvements. 3. Independence of Action Ability to follow general instructions and procedures as provided. Work is monitored by supervisor/manager. 4. Written Communications Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English with internal and external customers. 5. Oral Communications Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical center staff, patients, families and external customers. 6. Knowledge Ability to demonstrate basic knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use them in routine situations. Specialized knowledge not required. 7. Team Work Ability to work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of immediate work group by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members. 8. Customer Service Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and external customers in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations. Pay Range $75,000.00 USD - $95,000.00 USD The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
