Quality Assurance Engineer - Software Quality

MBDA is a leading defence organisation dedicated to supporting the Armed Forces. The role involves joining the Bristol Software Quality Assurance team to enhance quality assurance skills while collaborating with various engineering teams to ensure high-quality weapon systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining software quality by following procedures and guidelines
• Assisting UK Engineering Directorate's software teams in missile programs
• Leading Project Quality Assessments, identifying risks and critical issues, and providing recommendations to monthly reports
• Building strong relationships with colleagues across all programmes
• Communicating clearly, both orally and in writing
• Remaining calm under pressure and coping well with unexpected changes
• Working independently as part of a functional and integrated team

Skills

• Experience in software development, full life cycle, and quality assurance; applicants from a diverse set of backgrounds and industries are encouraged
• Knowledge of software processes including national and international standards and assurance requirements
• Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues across all programmes
• Collaborative but objective approach with an ability to influence change when required
• Ability to lead Project Quality Assessments, identify risks and critical issues and provide recommendations to monthly reports
• Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
• Remain calm under pressure and cope well with unexpected changes
• Work independently as part of a functional and integrated team
• Ideally have an Engineering Degree or equivalent experience, with an understanding of new and appropriate technologies or proven experience
• Auditing experience would be advantageous
• Experience or knowledge of configuration management, documentation and requirements management systems is highly beneficial
