Remote Agronomy Specialist, Precision Agriculture

Our client is seeking a dedicated and innovative Remote Agronomy Specialist to join their expanding team, focusing on the advancement of precision agriculture technologies. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to influence modern farming practices across the country. You will be responsible for providing expert agronomic advice, developing data-driven recommendations, and supporting farmers in optimizing crop yields and resource management through the use of technology. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of plant science, soil health, data analysis, and a passion for sustainable agriculture. Responsibilities: Provide remote agronomic consulting and technical support to farmers and agricultural businesses. Analyze data from various sources, including satellite imagery, soil sensors, weather stations, and farm management software, to develop customized crop management plans. Develop recommendations for planting, fertilization, irrigation, and pest management based on data-driven insights and agronomic principles. Assist clients in the implementation and utilization of precision agriculture technologies, such as variable rate application, GPS guidance, and drone technology. Monitor crop health and identify potential issues, providing timely and effective solutions. Conduct virtual field assessments and provide guidance on soil sampling and testing protocols. Develop educational materials and conduct online training sessions for clients on best practices in agronomy and precision agriculture. Collaborate with internal teams, including data scientists and software developers, to enhance platform capabilities and reporting tools. Stay current with the latest research, technologies, and trends in agronomy, crop science, and sustainable farming practices. Maintain detailed client records and track the impact of implemented recommendations on crop performance and resource efficiency. Champion the adoption of data-driven decision-making in agriculture. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Science, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in agronomy, crop consulting, or agricultural science, with a focus on precision agriculture. Strong understanding of plant physiology, soil science, and crop production. Experience with data analysis and interpretation from agricultural technologies (e.g., GIS, remote sensing, farm management software). Familiarity with precision agriculture equipment and practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences. Proficiency in using common agricultural software and data analysis tools. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a remote work environment. Passion for sustainable agriculture and technological innovation in farming. Experience with remote sensing data (e.g., satellite imagery) and GIS software is a strong plus.
