Job Description

We are hiring a Senior QA Automation Engineer, who will act as a technical lead within QA and test teams and oversee all aspects of software and product testing as well as overall development quality across the company. The role includes developing test strategies, preparing test documentation, identifying defects, and reviewing QA reports. The Senior QA Automation Engineer leads the evaluation of test automation tools and technologies, choosing those most appropriate for each project, and drives the transition from manual to automated testing to minimize manual effort. The role also includes leading the team, building test automation frameworks, and supporting QA teams with expert QA knowledge. The Senior QA Automation Engineer is responsible for defining and updating company quality standards to ensure high customer satisfaction, implementing test frameworks and test architecture, and setting up continuous integration within CI/CD pipelines. The role leads the entire QA process across one or multiple projects—from pre‑testing analysis, through software testing and test automation, to post‑testing evaluation. The Senior QA Automation Engineer ensures that all released products meet both company and industry quality standards, stays up to date with modern processes, established tools, techniques, and technologies, and ensures a consistently high degree of product quality. The role requires a good overview of DevOps methodology and frameworks such as the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or similar. About the project This role focuses on automation testing within the Dedicated Connectivity & Infrastructure (DCI) Hub, specifically on regression testing of highly complex BSS releases prior to customer rollout. It supports enterprise‑grade network products and applications, ensuring quality, stability, and legal compliance across large‑scale, business‑critical systems. WHAT YOU WILL DO? Bring senior-level Test Automation expertise Have a strong focus on BSS regression testing for complex enterprise releases Can design and implement automated test cases for highly complex business requirements (Business Epics / Initiatives level)

  • Master Test Automation Tools & Languages

Provide expert-level experience with UFT (current platform) Have expert-level Java automation skills Work confidently with modern tools such as Selenium, Selenide, or Playwright Are ready for migration toward Calypso (future target platform)

  • Understand Enterprise Network & B2B domains

Possess deep knowledge of Enterprise Network business processes Have detailed understanding of B2B connectivity products Understand legally compliant contract and settlement processes

  • Bring strong Technical & System Knowledge

Understand Enterprise Network technologies (e.g., BNG, Access 4.0, Remote Devices) Know common IT/NT testing procedures Have strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Excel in Quality Assurance & Defect Management

Perform defect analysis, bug reporting, and root cause analysis Produce high‑quality test documentation Collaborate effectively across multiple test levels and business units (BUT, WBV)

  • Work confidently in Agile environments

Have experience in SAFe® and Kanban teams Demonstrate strong cross-functional collaboration in large enterprises Build very good internal networks within Deutsche Telekom

  • Use modern tooling effectively

Jira (Atlassian) Git SQL XML Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

  • Support AI & Innovation initiatives

Bring hands-on experience with LLMs (e.g., ChatGPT) Have experience with AI-supported migrations (e.g., UFT → Playwright)

  • Communicate effectively

English: very good (mandatory) German: good knowledge is a plus
