Our client, a pioneering biotechnology company located in the vibrant research hub near Raleigh, North Carolina, US , is seeking an exceptional and visionary Lead Gene Editing Researcher to spearhead groundbreaking research efforts. This fully remote position offers an unparalleled opportunity to lead a team focused on developing and applying cutting-edge gene editing technologies, such as CRISPR-Cas9, for therapeutic applications. You will be instrumental in driving the discovery and preclinical development of novel gene-based therapies for a range of genetic disorders. The Lead Gene Editing Researcher will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing innovative research strategies, designing and optimizing gene editing experiments, and rigorously analyzing complex biological data. This includes evaluating the efficacy, specificity, and safety of gene editing tools and delivery systems. You will manage a team of talented scientists, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing research environment. Key duties involve staying at the forefront of scientific advancements in gene editing and related fields, publishing research findings in high-impact journals, and presenting work at international conferences. Strong experience in molecular biology, genetics, virology, and gene delivery methods is essential. This role requires a Ph.D. in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life sciences discipline, with a minimum of 7 years of post-doctoral and/or industry experience specifically focused on gene editing technologies. Proven leadership experience managing research projects and scientific teams is mandatory. Experience with high-throughput screening, bioinformatics analysis, and preclinical model development is highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical for internal collaboration, external presentations, and manuscript preparation. As a fully remote position, the ideal candidate must be self-motivated, highly organized, and adept at working independently with minimal supervision.
