Adjunct Composition Instructor Synchronous
Description The Adjunct Instructor – Composition is responsible for delivering high-quality synchronous online instruction to college-level students. This includes helping students develop foundational writing, reading, and critical thinking skills necessary for academic and professional success. Check Us Out! Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Deliver live, scheduled online class sessions and actively teach during all assigned meeting times
- Develop and deliver lectures, discussions, and learning activities on topics such as the writing process, rhetorical strategies, grammar and mechanics, research writing, and academic argumentation
- Use a variety of teaching methods, including writing workshops, peer collaboration, real-world writing applications, and technology-based instruction
- Facilitate critical thinking, analysis, and effective written communication

Requirements
- Master’s degree in English, Composition, Rhetoric, or a closely related field required; individuals with a master’s degree in another discipline may be considered with at least 15 credits in English or composition
- College-level teaching experience preferred
- Experience teaching diverse student populations
- Experience with online learning platforms (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.) preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
