Senior Android Engineer Contractor

We're looking to bring on a Senior Android contractor to help us get started with a big bet on our Voice platform in the new mobile app. As a Senior Android Engineer at Podium, you'll work on a cross-disciplinary team using your knowledge to build mobile applications that are used by tens of thousands of people each week. This is a contract position expected to last approximately three months with no option for an extension and is fully remote. What you will be doing:

• Implement designs to create applications for the Android platform
• Attending daily standup and other meetings as needed
• Communicate effectively and proactively with stakeholders about your work
• Focus on quality, performance, and responsiveness of applications
• Use the latest technologies and Android APIs to create world-class applications

What you should have:

• 5+ years professional building complex Android development using Kotlin & Jetpack
• Familiarity with the Android tool ecosystem for development, testing, and performance benchmarking
• Extensive knowledge and experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Familiarity with architectural patterns of large, high-scale mobile applications (e.g., well-designed APIs, high-volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms, MVC, MVVM, etc.)
• Experience working with GraphQL or REST APIs
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with product teams, design, and other engineers
• Embody the "Be a Founder" mentality in everything you do
• Experience as a contractor with distributed teams and working effectively in a remote setting
