Project & Local Development Officer Moldova (m/f/d)

Remote role Full-time Open position

OlamAid is a European, Jewish-based pluralistic aid organization providing global emergency relief and rehabilitation. We address physical and psychosocial needs throughout all stages of humanitarian crises to ensure resilient, self-sustained communities. Our holistic methodology combines humanitarian aid deliveries with empowerment work to help affected people transition from crisis to sustainable living. Tasks As the Local Project & Development Officer, you will hold a dual-focus position that encompasses both project implementation/oversight and strategic development work. You will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and implementation of food security activities in Moldova while simultaneously driving local fundraising and communications to ensure the program's long-term financial sustainability and visibility. This role serves as the critical link between the local project teams and the HQ Development and Communications Department, ensuring a smooth flow of information and aligning project needs with overall organizational strategy. 1. Project Implementation & Partner Coordination ● Assist in coordination between local project partners, stakeholders, and international project leadership. ● Facilitate and oversee food security and nutrition-related activities with local partners, focusing on vulnerable populations, including women, children, and refugees. ● Conduct regular field visits to project sites to ensure effective delivery of nutritional support and humanitarian aid. ● Apply food safety standards and gender-related resources while ensuring alignment with safeguarding policies. ● Occasionally support PSS-related activities as a secondary component of the holistic aid approach. 2. Local Development & Fundraising ● Implement fundraising strategies on a local level in line with annual departmental goals and local priorities. ● Actively identify, research, and track new, localized funding opportunities from institutional, corporate, and foundation prospects. ● Support the grant application and management process by preparing project-specific data and drafting sections of compelling proposals. ● Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with key local individual donors and project-specific corporate partners. 3. Communications & Visibility ● Support the development of high-quality, project-specific communication materials, including impact stories, photos, and testimonials. ● Ensure the consistent application of organizational branding and messaging within the project area. ● Manage local press contacts and issue project-related press releases in coordination with HQ. ● Facilitate media interviews with local staff and provide local context for central team requests. 4. Data Management & Reporting ● Facilitate data collection and analysis for program monitoring and evaluation (M&E). ● Regularly contribute accurate contact information and donation records to the central donor database (CRM). ● Track and report project-level fundraising performance against targets to leadership.

Requirements

We are looking for a versatile professional who combines humanitarian field experience with a background in local development and fundraising. Required: ● Education: B.A. / M.A. in relevant studies. ● Experience: Proven background in non-governmental or humanitarian operations, specifically within food security, nutrition, or rural development. ● Development Skills: Experience in fundraising, grant support, or donor cultivation. ● MHPSS: Prior experience or education in psychosocial support (PSS) is an advantage. ● Languages: Fluent in English, Romanian, and Russian; Ukrainian is a significant advantage. ● Technical Skills: Essential computer literacy (Word, Excel) and a solution-oriented mindset. Benefits ● A responsible role in a dynamic, culturally diverse NGO environment. ● Flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work. ● Regular participation in further education, training, and individual consulting sessions. ● The opportunity to shape your professional development within a highly motivated team. Interested candidates should send their CV and motivation letter in PDF format. Please include the name, position, and contact details of at least two professional references. Apply To This Job
