What You Can Expect You will work remotely from the desk to handle Homeowner's property claims. You will handle the claims process for all lines of first-party coverage: (structure, contents, and ALE) mostly for claims up to $50,000. This includes settling small claims upon initial contact, and potentially managing vendors to reconcile the claim. The claims handled by this role are typically 1- 4 rooms of damages resulting from water, water/plumbing, or wind. You will report to a leader along with approximately 6 other individuals. Job Family Summary Investigate and maintain property claims. Secure relevant information about a loss, determine a cost-efficient manner of adjusting the loss, reviews coverages, prepare written communications, and settles claims. You will work from the desk with limited oversite. Job Summary The Claim Adjuster I position supports the goal of ensuring customer service industry leadership and partners with agency to deliver seamless claim service. You will specialize in low-complexity property claims. Position Compensation Range: $57,000.00 - $94,000.00 Pay Rate Type: Salary Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates. Primary Accountabilities Investigate origin and cause of claims by contacting the appropriate parties including insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, special investigation unit, other adjusters, public personnel. Handle claims on a good faith basis. Handle 1st party claims under multiple policies types and numerous endorsements. Evaluate damages remotely using digital tools, and handle claim settlements and/or negotiations with insureds, claimants, attorneys, or public adjusters. Respond to customer inquiries, makes appropriate decisions, and close file. Interpret and determines policies, leases, by-laws, declarations, articles, and contract coverages and applies to all parties for assigned losses. Provide all parties with claim process and status; answers questions or redirect to other areas. Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service. Demonstrated experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across our operating territories, or other equivalent experience. Demonstrated experience handling moderately complex claims, or other equivalent experience. Solid knowledge and understanding of policies and endorsements related to casualty coverages, or other equivalent knowledge. Solid knowledge and understanding of each phase of the claim handling process, or other equivalent knowledge. Education & Licenses · Obtain state specific property casualty claims licensing. Working Conditions · You will be asked to work remotely in an environment free from distraction. Travel Requirements · You will be asked to travel up to 10% of the time. Additional Qualifications · Experience with Xactimate or similar system will be required. Location You will be fully remote/work from home. On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events.
