Job Summary
As a Senior Data Scientist – Statistics, you'll be responsible for providing numerical modeling and analysis services to support business decision making. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex business problems, develop and implement data-driven solutions, and communicate insights to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain statistical models to support business decision making, including regression analysis, time series analysis, and machine learning
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends and patterns, and develop insights to inform business strategy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex business problems, and develop and implement data-driven solutions
- Communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders, including business leaders and technical teams
- Develop and maintain data visualizations and reports to support business decision making
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in statistical modeling and machine learning, and apply this knowledge to drive business growth
- Participate in model development, model deployment, and model maintenance for multiple projects, and collaborate with product delivery teams
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with data analysis and modeling, including data quality and model bias
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including business leaders and technical teams
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to drive business growth
Essential Qualifications
* Postgraduate education (PhD or ABD) in a quantitative field, including statistics, mathematics, or computer science
- Strong background in statistical modeling and machine learning, including regression analysis, time series analysis, and machine learning algorithms
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, including R, Python, and SQL
- Strong programming skills, including C, C++, Java, R, Python, or other organized programming languages
- Excellent business, technical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with data analysis and modeling
Preferred Qualifications
* Minor in computer science and formal high-level computer science coursework
- 2+ years of professional experience in a quantitative field, including data analysis and modeling
- 1+ years of experience in the airline industry or a related field
- 1+ years of experience planning and programming/coding data structures for large-scale computer models
- Experience with Julia programming language
- Knowledge of arenaflex/industry data sources
- Organized programming for large-scale computer models
- Shown ability to create business value
