About The Role We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, assessing risk factors, and determining appropriate coverage and premium rates. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of insurance policies, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in insurance underwriting or a similar role, preferably within property and casualty insurance.
  • Strong understanding of insurance policies, underwriting guidelines, and risk assessment techniques.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and clients.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and underwriting software.
  • Professional certifications such as CPCU, ARM, or similar are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate insurance applications to determine insurability and appropriate premium rates.
  • Analyze risk factors by examining applicant information, property details, and relevant documentation.
  • Develop and recommend underwriting strategies to mitigate risk and ensure profitability.
  • Collaborate with agents, brokers, and clients to gather necessary information and clarify policy details.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and emerging risks.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new insurance products and underwriting guidelines.
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings to share insights and improve underwriting processes.
