Job title: School of Music, Dance and Theatre, Faculty Associate - Dance Company: Arizona State University Job description: Department Name MDT Dance Job Description The School of Music, Dance and Theatre in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University invites applications for multiple part-time Faculty Associate positions to teach Dance courses for the fall 2023 semester. The successful candidate(s) will teach in-person or online courses, prepare course materials, evaluate student work, and assist students. Faculty Associate positions are one semester, non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed 0.40 FTE. The number of courses is contingent upon needs, funding and sufficient enrollment. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load. Individuals employed as Faculty Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits eligible appointments at Arizona State University. Requisition ID 90610BR Working Environment The successful candidate(s) will teach in-person or online courses:

• Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled classroom setting subject to extended periods of standing, lecturing, facilitating classroom activities
• Frequently required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
• Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
• Occasional activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
• Clearly communicate to perform essential functions
• Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals

Minimum Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in teaching dance.
• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in some aspect of dance at the collegiate level.
• Experience teaching course subject/material as listed in one of the courses listed.

Scope of Search Open Desired Qualifications

• Professional experience in the specific art discipline
• Experience teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level
• Knowledge of local and regional disciplinary ecosystem
• Demonstrated experience developing curricula
• Creative Activity/Scholarly research interests and achievement as demonstrated through performances, presentations and/or publications

• DCE 123 Nonmajors Hip Hop
• DCE 118 Yoga/Pilates
• DCE 110 Argentine Tango I
• DCE 405 Writing the Creating Body
