Job Highlights and Overview
This Senior Data Engineer position offers a unique chance to work on exciting projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement ETL/ELT data pipelines, database mapping, and batch processes using Apache Airflow. As a key member of the Information Designing group within arenaflex's Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) segment, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies, including SQL, Python, Docker, Gitlab, Airflow, Snowflake, Looker, and PostgreSQL. Your expertise will be essential in driving the company's data-driven decision-making processes, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of its data assets, and contributing to the development of innovative data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and execute ETL/ELT data pipelines to support various projects and initiatives
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather data requirements, validate data, and ensure data quality
- Develop and implement database schema, tables, and views to support business needs
- Build and manage batch processes using Apache Airflow
- Work with large datasets and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
- Participate in driving best practices around data engineering and software development processes
- Collaborate with teams to ensure seamless deployment across multiple environments, including DEV, QA/UAT, and PROD
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in a Data Engineering role
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with database design and development
- Experience with cloud-based technologies, preferably AWS and S3
- Proficiency in Python and experience with data processing and analysis
- Experience with Gitlab/Github and Docker
- Strong understanding of data lakes, data warehouses, and application databases
- Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
While not required, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable:
- A Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with Apache Airflow, Databricks, and Snowflake
- Experience working in the streaming, media, or digital advertising industry
- Strong understanding of data architecture and data governance principles
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems
