We are currently searching for an experienced Right of Way Manager to support our East Gulf Region located in Tennessee.

What you’ll be doing

  • Practice Leader with high level of responsibility and accountability for ROW/Real Estate program for Tennessee
  • Identify new client opportunities; market and develop business relationships; lead team to win new contracts and assignments. Clients include transportation agencies, local agencies, and utility companies (electric transmission, telecom, water, and oil & gas)
  • Hire and lead team to meet workload and company metrics
  • Communicate directly with client – generate regular status reports
  • Manage program to assure timely completion of projects while staying within budget
  • Serve as project manager with autonomy for project related tasks and as a designated client contact
  • Project management responsibilities on multiple projects
  • Coordination of estimating, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects
  • Preparation of engineering agreements for projects

What you need to have

  • Significant Right of Way experience, both as Agent and Supervisor
  • TDOT Acquisition/Relocation certifications preferred
  • Superior communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to foster a strong working relationship with the client
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • IRWA RW, RWA, or SRWA certification is preferred
  • Other skills and competencies:
    • Possesses ability to effectively serve in both leadership and support roles on project teams.
    • Ability to listen to the client and translate into solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
    • Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
    • Understand and execute oral and written instructions.
    • Exhibit high-level self-management skills.
    • Perform efficiently and accurately while working on multiple projects.
    • Ability to travel
    • Ability to demonstrate organizational skills, including attention to detail
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
  • Valid driver’s license
  • A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
  • If applicable to the position, a post offer fit for duty evaluation to ensure the individual can safely perform the essential functions of the role.
