[Remote] Geospatial Data Operations Specialist - Fixed-Term (Montana or Remote)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. onX is a high-growth tech company focused on enhancing outdoor exploration through innovative products. They are seeking two Geospatial Data Operations Specialists to support their core data types, ensuring quality and coverage of map content for their mobile apps.
Responsibilities
- Manual curation within onX's web-based GIS editing platform of high-value datasets
- Process spatial data within our established processing pipelines
- Conduct quality control checks on spatial data to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Communicate with the team leads to address any issues
- Critically analyze existing processes and make suggestions for improvements
- Provide support to ad hoc data processing needs
Skills
- Certificate, Associate's Degree or Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geospatial Analysis or closely related field
- Experience with desktop Geospatial software such as QGIS or ArcMap
- Ability to follow instructions as provided in process documentation
- Detail-oriented, highly organized self-starter
- Patience for repetitive tasks
- Ability to maintain a positive, helpful, constructive attitude
- Ability to establish and maintain efficient working relationships with other onX employees
- Desire to contribute to a strong team dynamic
- Experience working with cadastral, trails/transportation, and/or points of interest (POI) data
- Experience with editing OpenStreetMap (OSM) data via the iD Editor
