Job title: Part-Time English Language Acquisition Instructor Company: Halifax Community College Job description: Description The Part-Time English Language Acquisition Instructor will report to the Dean of Workforce and Economic Development Division as well as Halifax Community College's Director of Literacy Education. The Part-Time English Language Acquisition Instructor is responsible for lesson plans, entering student attendance in self-service, provide instruction for different placement testing levels, and reporting required data to HCC's Literacy Skills Data Manager. Examples of Duties

• Assist the Literacy Education Program in meeting or exceeding state benchmark percentages for completion of Education Functional Levels (EFL), Measurable Skills Gains (MSG), Post-testing, and students obtaining and retaining employment.

2. Assist students entering post-secondary education or job training 3. Assist in recruiting for Halifax Community Colleges English as a Second Language Class, Halifax Community Colleges Literacy Education Class, and etc. 4. Maintain students records and documents 5. Meet classes as assigned by contract 6. Use a variety of teaching and learning styles 7. Take professional development trainings, webinars, meetings, seminars, and conferences 8. Follow the North Carolina Community College System College and Career Readiness Adult Basic Education Content Standards and Benchmarks 9. Excellent multitasking, time management and organizational skills 10. Maintain weekly/monthly lesson plans Minimum/Required Qualifications Required: 1. Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Education or a related field. 2. Prior teaching experience. Language Skills: Effective written and verbal communication and collaboration skills required. Computer Skills: Have knowledge of: 1. Email systems 2. Online system skills 3. Self-service Attendance 4. Google Apps 5. Microsoft Windows 6. Word processing software License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation: Not Applicable What are the Physical Requirements of job? Frequently requires standing, sitting, and walking.
