Role Description

We are looking for a Surgery Scheduler who is passionate about creating a welcoming, seamless experience for our clients and care teams to ensure scheduling is complete, insurance details are researched and discussed, and clients are informed and prepared for their surgery procedure experience. The ideal candidate is outgoing, customer service and detail-oriented, organized, and is eager to tackle challenges with empathy and creativity. This role will be remote.

What you’ll do

  • Act as the first line of communication for clients that are embarking on a surgical procedure journey
    • Meet with clients to help set them up with their upcoming surgery, providing clarity on the process and educating on what to expect, providing warm client interactions
    • Learn about clients needs and individualize communications based on those needs
    • Verify clients insurance benefits and help clients navigate their benefits and estimated costs as they prepare for the procedure
    • Introduce, document and collect on payment plan options for surgical procedures
    • Ensure paperwork, consents, and insurance information is collected and complete
    • Maintain strong communication with surgical clients over the course of their care
  • Be the surgery scheduling expert for the sites, supporting the providers and overarching care team for a seamless scheduling experience:
    • Ensure all incoming procedure orders are scheduled in a timely manner
    • Work with the various stakeholders (providers, hospital counterparts, ASC, etc) to make sure there are strong partnerships and support across the scheduling journey
    • Schedule pre-op and post-op visits, as needed
    • Ensure strong documentation across the journey, following standard operating procedures
  • Managing the procedure / surgery schedule:
    • You know the schedule front to back / inside and out, and can work through schedule efficiencies based on the flow of the day as well as client and provider needs
    • You anticipate schedule needs days and weeks in advance
  • Build relationships across sites you cover.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or High School Diploma/GED w/ 2+ years experience in a related field
  • Proficiency with Google Suite or Microsoft Office Products
  • Strong computer skills; preferred familiarity with EMRs
  • Tendency to organize and create structure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
