Electrical Engineer

Eichleay, Inc. is seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to join their team in Billings, Montana, contributing to meaningful engineering solutions across various projects and industries. The role involves applying electrical engineering principles to analyze data, solve technical challenges, and support high-quality design execution under the guidance of a Senior Electrical Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, safety and environmental issues. Address issues as necessary to ensure zero harm to all employees clients, and contractors with zero environmental incidents
  • Consistently achieve goals, delivering quality and accurate work and meet project schedules
  • Ability to assemble electrical engineering, drawing and construction work packages for review and approval, that may include one-line diagrams, wiring schematics and other required electrical deliverables
  • Under the direction of a Senior Electrical Engineer performing load calculations, voltage drop, conduit/cable sizing, lighting and grounding design
  • Under the direction of a Senior Electrical Engineer perform scope development and create technical specifications for electrical equipment and modifications
  • Prepare material requisitions for bid and technical bid evaluation, including reviewing of specifications of equipment, and responding to vendor submittals
  • Attend Eichleay project team meetings
  • Under the direction of a Senior Electrical Engineer, become familiar with site, global and industry electrical standards and electrical safety, including NEC, IEEE, API, and NFPA 70E and 497

Skills

  • 1 to 5 years of experience in refinery or other oil and gas related industries
  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering
  • Ability to coordinate with other disciplines and project management in a team environment
  • Coordinate with vendors
  • Manage schedules
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and working experience with AutoCAD/NavisWorks
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, API, and IEEE standards for hazardous locations
  • Proficiency in developing one-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and performing load calculations, voltage drop, conduit/cable sizing, lighting and grounding design
  • Experience with low and medium voltage systems
  • Experience in the development of electrical specifications and calculations
  • Ability to form and foster collaborative relationships within Eichleay and with clients and partners
  • Occasionally travel to Eichleay offices and client sites across the Western US
  • Working towards the passing of Fundamentals of Engineering exam is expected
  • Experience working onsite at a refinery or similar industrial facility
