Associate Software Engineer
2K Sports Lab is a new studio at 2K focused on innovative game development. They are seeking an Associate Software Engineer to provide software and tools support, develop new tools and pipelines, and optimize engine performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide software and tools support to engineers, designers, and artists
- Design and develop new tools, runtime libraries, and pipelines
- Debug and triage low-level engine and platform issues
- Optimize runtime and tool code to be more performant
- Develop automation tools and tests to improve and maintain engine stability
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Perforce, Git)
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Solid familiarity and experience with C++, C#, and Python
- Ability to explain technical topics to people of varying levels of expertise
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Love for video games (not just ours!)
- Experience developing on Unreal Engine 4 or 5
- Experience debugging unfamiliar and large codebases
- Relevant internship experience in game development or real-time systems programming
