Director of Outpatient Services

The Director of Outpatient Services provides clinical and administrative Leadership for AMIkids Behavioral Health. Primary role is to ensure quality, trauma-informed, evidence-based services that comply with federal, state, and accreditation standards; oversee clinical Team Members and related operations while driving program performance and development, and promote a culture of accountability, innovation, client-centered care and staff development practices. Support the Executive Director in achieving the objectives of the outpatient services growth plan to meet community needs through a culture of accountability, collaboration, and client-centered care, while positioning the organization as a Behavioral Health provider of choice.

  • Provide leadership and clinical supervision to clinicians,
  • Support the execution of the strategic plan for outpatient Behavioral Health growth, including new programs, service line expansion, and geographic scaling.
  • Oversee referral system for eligibility, case assignment, and case tracking,
  • Incorporate principles and actions of trauma-informed practices/care in all areas of service delivery, cultural sensitivity, and emphasis on a safe and respectful environment.
  • Ensure use of evidence-based and best-practice clinical models across outpatient programs, and monitor effectiveness and fidelity,
  • Provide oversight and/or development and implementation of treatment protocols, documentation standards, outcome measures, and applicable reports,
  • Review and approve clinical documentation to ensure compliance with licensing, funding, and payer requirements,
  • Provide case consultation and crisis response to Team Members within BH,
  • Support the Executive Director with operational objectives and implementation of policies and procedures,
  • Recruit, orient, and provide ongoing training for Behavioral Health Team Members,
  • Assist the Executive Director in developing and managing department budget, productivity standards, and service delivery outcomes,
  • Lead program evaluation, quality improvement, and data reporting efforts,
  • Prepare and submit Program reports as required by the established guidelines and any ad hoc requests,
  • Monitor KPIs including access-to-care metrics, utilization, clinical outcomes, client satisfaction, Team Member retention, and compliance,
  • Assist with the design and implementation of new innovative service models that improve access, retention, and quality, to include development of budgets, staffing models, and desired productivity goals and performance outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and oversight agencies (e.g., AHCA, DCF, CARF, Medicaid),
  • Ensure adherence to ethical standards, best practices, and contract deliverables,
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, program evaluations, and performance reporting,
  • Conduct client file quality reviews to validate compliance with contract requirements (e.g., assessments, service and treatment plans and referrals, etc.),
  • Effectively implement AMIkids Way (Kids First, Safety, and Family) and key elements of Positive Youth Development (Relationships, Meaningful Participation, Community Involvement, and Challenged & Engaged Programming) and the AMIkids Personal Growth Model (PGM) in all interactions with youth and families
  • Provide ongoing training for Team Members and monitor certifications to ensure compliance with established requirements,
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance and ongoing development of direct reports and their related teams and provide ongoing feedback and coaching,
  • Use data to drive decision-making and to support clinical quality and operational excellence,
  • Promote trauma-informed care by supporting Team Member well-being, self-care, and use of Employee Assistance Program (EAP),
  • Build collaborative relationships with schools, hospitals, courts, and social service systems,
  • Serve as a liaison to referral sources, community partners, and funding agencies,
  • Representing the organization at community meetings and professional events,
  • Strengthen external relationships to improve access, visibility, and program success,
  • Actively participate in and/or deliver the required training,
  • May drive for other work-related tasks
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience

  •  Master’s degree; preferably in Psychology, Social Work, or another counseling-related field, 
  • Two (2) years’ experience working with youth (substance misuse, domestic violence, and mental health preferred), 
  • Floridia licensure (multi-state preferred) as an LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW; Qualified Supervisor preferred, 
  • Knowledge/understanding of trauma-informed principles/practices preferred, 
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience, 
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Effective written and verbal communication skills required. 
  • Track record of problem-solving and managing conflict resolution, 
  • Experience leading program growth or service line expansion, 
  • Experience managing budgets and operational metrics, 
  • Familiarity with Medicaid, managed care, and revenue cycle processes, 
  • Strong data analysis, change-management, and strategic planning skills, 
  • Experience working at a high level of autonomy and ability to work collaboratively within a group/team,
