Job Summary

As a Personal Lines Customer Service Representative, you'll be the primary contact for our clients, responsible for providing effective customer service for personal lines customers. You'll use your excellent in-depth knowledge of our insurance products to ensure that our clients receive the best possible support. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to customer requests in a professional and courteous manner, on a timely basis
  • Initiating endorsements and other policy changes for customers
  • Processing and transmitting necessary information to clients and brokers via fax, email, or mail
  • Assisting applicants and brokers with completion of the application and required forms
  • Assisting the underwriting team to obtain information from clients and brokers
  • Escalating customer service issues to management as needed
  • Assisting with special projects
  • Providing assistance to clients to answer questions and resolve issues, including billing questions and policy changes
  • Actively looking to round out accounts by referring other value-added services
  • Reviewing and rewriting current accounts to carriers that will better fit the client's needs
  • Maintaining client information and files, including communication and activities in the agency management system
  • Keeping abreast of changes in carrier plans and policies
  • Continuing education as needed
  • Building relationships with clients, carriers, and agents

Competencies

To perform this job successfully, you'll need to possess the following competencies:

  • High School Diploma or recognized equivalent
  • Property & Casualty Producer's License preferred (not required)
  • Basic PC skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Moderate stress due to regular deadlines and daily challenges
  • High finger dexterity while typing documents and forms
  • Occasionally lifting up to 20lbs
