The Veterinary Technician I will provide support to clinicians, residents, and interns by instructing veterinary students in proper clinical techniques and by delivering exceptional patient care through a collaborative environment. Successful candidates will have a desire to learn new skills and demonstrate their ability to work in an inclusive team environment. The veterinary field is always evolving, and this position allows you to further develop and advance your skills. The Blinn Veterinary Technology Program is housed in the same building as the VMTH. There are flexible work schedules for evening, overnight and weekend shifts in some service areas of the VMTH. Qualifications Minimum qualifications for an entry level include: Associate degree in Veterinary Technology, Biomedical Science, Animal Science or a related area, or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Preferred qualifications: 2 years of experience handling large animals in a veterinary setting. What you need to know Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire?s experience. Work Schedule: Candidates must have the ability to work alternative shifts, holidays, weekends, and on-call duty. Must have the ability to work around animals, hay, or dust. Ability to move heavy loads.
