Job description: The Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences at Mercy College (NY) invites applications for a multi-year contract position in Computer Science and Cybersecurity to help us create new courses in video game development and programming. The position will begin September 2023. We seek candidates with professional and/or teaching experience in C++, C#, JavaScript and Python, game engines such as Unreal and Unity, and 2D and 3D digital animation such as Maya or Blender. Experience in developing for mobile and web platforms, and/or for applications outside of gaming such as VR is a plus. As a campus committed to serving a very diverse student body, we encourage applications from women, individuals from minoritized backgrounds, and those with a commitment to inclusive pedagogies and mentoring underrepresented students in STEM fields. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related discipline by the appointment date, and should be prepared to teach both undergraduate and graduate levels of Computer Science and Cybersecurity classes in programming, database, computer systems, and/or data security.
