Job description: POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for a Math classroom. The person in this position is expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for Math environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. They must demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds. They will participate in professional activities as well as extracurricular and/or academic support activities. This position reports to the Building Administrator.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans, instructional materials, and tests to facilitate active learning.
- Instruct, encourage, and monitor students? learning--adjusting strategies as needed to optimize learning.
- Assign, grade and provide feedback on class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
- Maintain accurate, complete records of students? progress--and prepare all required related documentation.
- Participate and contribute as requested in meetings with department, school, district, parents, and community.
- Manage student behavior and maintain discipline in accordance with district rules and procedures.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
