The EMC is the one-stop shop for visual information services throughout the Federal Government and the Department of Defense. EMC offers a full range of media services to enlist, educate, and empower the warfighter.
Summary:
The Senior Videographer shall provide the highest expertise in the Creative Arts for communication with a heightened working knowledge of various production tools, lighting instruments, and editing processes.
Work you?ll do:
As a Senior Videographer within our Enterprise Multimedia Center (EMC) team, you will:
- Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and tutoring of all camera systems utilized in video production.
- Provide the highest expertise in the Creative Arts for Communication with a heightened working knowledge of various production tools, lighting instruments, and editing processes.
- Plan the pre-production, production, and postproduction of recorded and edited video and audio productions at both on and off-site locations and deliver the completed project at the required time.
- Perform as a videographer at multiple events and be able to write scripts.
- Ensure all software and hardware are submitted to the COR for approval.
- Consult with management and creative staff on technology purchases or leasing, the number and type of production tools available, editing processes, camera packages, and the workflow to provide an original image to the final edited file.
- Electronically backup all final files of all images created that allow additions, changes, corrections, modifications, layers, and rapid updates.
- Complete annual company and customer training requirements according to established policies and procedures.
- Record labor hours daily in an online corporate system.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- 7+ years of work experience in the field of cinematography.
- Background check required.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance within 6 months of hire.
- Must have extensive knowledge of AVID Editing Technology and Microsoft Windows-based computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite applications and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Must know about products capable to transfer, stream, store, and output video and audio products, including CD, DVD, and other commercial tape products.
- Mastery of cinematography methods to compose and record images of the highest caliber across a spectrum of presentation mediums.
- Possess the abilities of a Director of Photography who is skilled in the various camera systems with a commensurate knowledge of how to light for dramatic and comedic production designs, as well as live television, stage, and documentary genres.
- Ability to teach techniques and shortcuts of quality lighting in the field, to improve junior members of the team?s skills.
- Knowledge of all video production departments to turn ideas into screen reality through mechanical processes.
- Proven history producing industry standard, high caliber productions (and every level below it) within the confines of government austerity measures.
- In-depth knowledge of the production process from acting to sound effects, lens selection to wardrobe, location sound to color correcting, and from camera tools to music composition.
- Must be well organized, an effective communicator at multiple levels, and be able to grasp system concepts and communicate their applications.
- Must be capable of quickly learning new systems and associated software applications for proficient execution of tasks.
- Must be capable of managing multiple projects with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment.
- Must have the ability to hold telescopic boom mic assembly overhead during filming.
- Must be able to move equipment to and from the transport trailer and set up the set for filming.
- Ability to carry and operate a Steadicam rig, camera, and associated battery pack for up to 1 hour at a time, both indoors and outdoors.
- Must have the ability to travel and perform duties at CONUS-wide locations up to 30%.
